Just Curious - What is your favorite plot of land in the Treasure Valley?
Main / Boise Lots and Land The Dirt on Treasure Valley

It's time to hear what you think - help all of us in the business out there - where would you build your next house?

Each week, I try to come up with a land topic that is insightful, maybe a little interesting, fun and worthwhile for you to spend time reading. It's tough! For the last 2 weeks, I haven't found anything that energizes me. I finally decided, that although we are all "expert bloggers" here on BuildingCredibility.com, we would love to know what the public thinks about homes, hotspots, land, etc.

So, I'm curious...if you were going to build a new home in the Treasure Valley...

1. Where would it be?

2. What kind of land do you like?

3. And why?

I'm hoping that a few people will answer these questions, and just maybe I'll be more inspired next week to write something that appeals to you. Something that makes you want to read more.

Acreage, it is Idaho. If i did not want sapce I would move to a major Metro. I like resort areas but it is hard to make a living in the middle of nowhere.

Re:Just Curious - What is your favorite plot of land in the Treasure Valley?
Give me about 10 acres- keep it within 10 miles of my schools, banking, groceries, entertainment, etc. I don't want to use up any prime farm land so it needs to be out of the valley floor. I don't want to be in the floodplain. I would love to have an unobstructed western view to watch the sunsets. I need to have the ability to place some large pole mounted solar panels so they can track the wonderful Idaho sun. Also plenty of room for a wind turbine or two to generate some clean renewable power. ( I would love to get a check from Idaho Power each month) I'll also need enough room to capture my rainwater and store all of my greywater to be reused for 100% of all my landscaping needs. If anyone knows of such a eutopia please let me know! Bond Campbell

Bond,

You need to come look at the Dry Creek Value.

I am still chuckling after reading Bond's post. But I though he should have ended it with, .....and it must be under $100K.

My ideal spot would be a 1/4 acre or more within 5 min of downtown Boise. It must be secluded and quite. It also needs to be close to open green space. Fortunately Willowgreens Cottage Community on the Boise greenbelt meats this criteria. My wife and I are considering moving there. Plus I heard the builder is awesome!

In the perfect world I would want 3+ acres, within walking distance to a great school, within 10 minutes of my office and on water. I too am only wiling to spend half of what it costs. I also would like an older property with mature landscaping including fruit tree grove. Trey
